Role Description
WaxPrint Media is looking for a talented, detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join our creative team in Accra. This role is ideal for a designer with a strong visual eye, a solid foundation in design principles, and a genuine interest in developing their craft across digital campaigns, social media, websites, branding, and experiential activations.
The Junior Graphic Designer will work closely with senior designers and account teams to develop creative assets that meet client briefs, follow brand guidelines, and support campaign objectives. Responsibilities include creating graphics and layouts, preparing files for digital and print production, adapting global brand assets for local markets, and contributing fresh, culturally relevant ideas.
An essential part of this role is the ability to take direction and respond constructively to feedback. The designer must be comfortable managing multiple rounds of client revisions, adapting to changing requirements, and refining work until it meets the brief. A strong candidate will be proactive about researching design trends and visual references, have a good eye for typography and composition, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve.
This is a fast-paced agency environment where collaboration, professionalism, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Design visual assets for digital campaigns, social media, websites, presentations, and experiential activations.
Develop layouts and creative concepts in line with client briefs, brand guidelines, and campaign objectives.
Collaborate with senior designers, account managers, and production teams to deliver projects on time.
Incorporate feedback efficiently and manage multiple rounds of internal and client revisions.
Research design trends, typography, visual styles, and creative references to inform design development.
Adapt global brand assets and guidelines for local markets while maintaining brand consistency.
Prepare and package files for digital and print production, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Contribute fresh ideas and culturally relevant visual approaches to client projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A degree, diploma, or equivalent training in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
A strong portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals, typography, layout, and visual composition.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Familiarity with Figma is an advantage.
A good eye for typography, color, spacing, hierarchy, and detail.
The ability to interpret creative briefs, follow direction, and translate feedback into effective design solutions.
Comfort with multiple rounds of revisions and the ability to receive constructive criticism without becoming defensive or taking feedback personally.
Strong research skills and an interest in emerging design trends, visual references, and creative styles.
Good time management, organization, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
A collaborative attitude, willingness to learn, and professional communication skills.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is creative but coachable, confident in their developing abilities but open to different perspectives, and committed to producing work that serves the brief and the client's objectives.
The ideal candidate understands that design is a collaborative process. They can separate personal attachment to their work from professional feedback, respond positively to revisions, and remain focused on finding the strongest creative solution.
They are curious, resourceful, culturally aware, and able to take initiative while recognizing when to seek guidance. Above all, they bring a positive, solutions-oriented attitude to the creative process.
